We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our Youth for the Future
Franklin D Roosevelt
What exactly does that mean anyway?
You're putting the kids in charge?!?
Future XYZ is for Youth, and in our books that means it needs to beby Youth
There's no time for messing around. We've seen it in action, and we have every faith in the powerful commitment that Gen Z has to take hold of the reins and run a future that serves the immediate challenges of cleaning up the mess and sorting out our social and civic inequities.
Our Board of Directors is fully 50% Youth Representation
Youth, by our definition is 11 - 24, or thereabouts... our margins are in the range of Middle School to University age
Future XYZ is all about empowering Youth, thus our commitment that our Board be an opportunity to simultaneously: * teach young people how a nonprofit works * how to run a nationwide event * to learn about board service by doing board service.
"[We want] to put the right people in a room and help them to collectively think, dream, argue, heal, envision, trust and connect for a larger purpose... to help people experience a sense of belonging"
It's a Win-Win
The other 50% of our Board is made up of experienced people, who are there to help mentor the younger members, to galvanise their ideas into action, and to give opportunity for the Youth to really allow this project to be their expression of what they really need.
Future XYZ's Youth-Led Board of Directors
gives us the opportunity, as an organisation, to step-up to the plate and offer Mentorship Internship & Apprenticeship within the fabric of our Nonprofit.
We are seeking a 50% Board of 'Elders': people with the experience to guide our Youth Board to making this project what they need it to be.
We 100% believe we should put our money where our mouth is.
Fact: Youth are Amazing. Gen Z is exceptional. They have to be.
Fact: We have total faith in the clear vision of Gen Z. We have total faith in their ability to step-up to the challenges we are facing.
Our Promise: We are doing everything we can to accelerate helping this generation to step into the roles that will create a cohesive, orchestrated effective approach to sorting it all out.
